The Redesign Goal
My experience with the existing app was not the best, and given my set of skills, I thought I could at least explore how this app could be designed, if I could re-do it altogether.
Defining the brand's visual guidelines
Brand Colors
Font type: Inter
The Inter font was the closest match I could find for the custom Bosch font. It is modern and confident.
Style
The app's design had to be minimalistic on one hand, but dynamic on the other. Much like Bosch devices.
Tone
The 'German' style of consistency guided my wording choice, to help guide the user clearly.

App Structure
The porpose of this project was to consider how to segment its features into isolated categories while introducing new features to help the user become a master of their IoT ecosystem while upselling complementary and maintenance products.
Unlike the existing app, this version clearly separates between features and content, so the user will always know where they are, and where they need to go.
App Home - Device Launchpad
When opening the app, the user will see a gallery of all IoT device connected to the app.
Each device type (e.g. washer, oven, fridge etc.) has its own features, but they share the same layout and design style.
Discover - From Noob to Pro
We've all been there. That moment you get a new smart device and you're excited to use it, but can't figure out how. This section offers users a well of knowledge with manuals and articles.
Community - You're Never Alone
The one thing I think we can all agree on when it comes to the internet is that public forums are a gift to humanity. That's why I saw fit to incorporate this feature so that users could openly discuss challenges and errors, and we (Bosch) could find out how to improve.
Store - Get Tailored Offers
Thanks to the development of affiliate marketing and data tracking we can now offer users the most relevant products for their exact devices, at exactly the right time. Say your dishwasher needs a descaling detergant, we can notify the user just in time, so they could place an order and always keep their devices at peak performance.
